Overview
The West Bank holds the best-preserved painted tombs anywhere, and it is entirely possible to rush all of them in three hours and remember none. We take six, go early, and stay in each tomb long enough for your eyes to adjust and your guide to actually explain what you are looking at.
The Valley of the Kings first, while the rock is still cool. Then Hatshepsut’s terraced temple against the cliff at Deir el-Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon on the way back. Where the day allows, we add a tomb most groups walk past.
Private throughout, with a licensed Egyptologist — not a guide reading from a script.

Three royal tombs are included with the standard ticket. Your guide picks them by what is open and least crowded that morning, and explains the painted programme before you go down.
