Dahabeya & Abu Simbel — 8 Days

8 Days

This is the dahabeya journey at its fullest. Under sail on a small boutique boat, you move at the river’s own pace from Luxor to Aswan — mooring at sandbanks, stopping at temples the big ships pass by, and letting each evening unfold slowly on deck. Beyond Aswan you continue to the greatest sight of all: the colossal rock temples of Abu Simbel, carved into the mountainside by Ramesses II. Few cabins, real sails where the wind allows, and a licensed Egyptologist throughout.

Highlights

  • A boutique dahabeya under sail from Luxor to Aswan, with only a handful of cabins
  • Quiet river temples: Esna, Edfu, Kom Ombo and the island of Philae
  • The colossal rock temples of Abu Simbel on the shore of Lake Nasser
  • Sandbank moorings, felucca sails and time to do very little
